Annie Duan 

Founder and Co-Chair

Annie Duan is a queer, first-generation Asian American. She founded CrochetForChnge, a nonprofit that engages youth with marginalized groups in different, artistic capacities. She is extremely passionate about Environmental Justice and Social Justice as well as fashion and design. Outside of CrochetForChnge, Annie leads Green Team, Asian Student Union, Crochet and Knit Club, and Fashion Club at school.

Olivia Kong

Co-Chair

Olivia Kong is the other co-chair of CrochetForChnge. She began crocheting in 2021 and has fallen in love with it since. Her main focus for CrochetForChnge is on environmental advocacy and community engagement. She is part of an environmental justice group and pre-law club at school. Other than crocheting, she also likes to bake and read.

Tariq Lawal

Tariq Lawal is a writer, poet, creative , artivist and changemaker from Lagos, Nigeria. He passionately advocates social, economic, environmental, racial and gender justice. He is a UNICEF Nigeria Young Influencer, a Global Citizen Emerging Creative and a member of the Community Arts Network.

Hey I'm Sasha, a high school senior from Illinois, and I'm so excited to work with Crochet for Change! My favorite things to crochet are stuffed animals and accessories. Some of my other hobbies include playing the piano, reading, and listening to music.

I am a rising senior at Jesuit High School and have a passion for marketing and communications. This is my first year working with Crochet For Chnge and I'm super excited to be able to help out!

I’m Vietnamese and I like to play volleyball, hangout with friends & family, cook, bake, work on new projects! I’m also caring, outgoing, creative, and open minded.

Malathi Kalluri

My name is Malathi and I will be serving as a member of the Program team! Some fun facts about me are that I'm from the Central Valley in California and that I started crocheting when I was nine years old. My favorite hobbies include baking, playing the violin, and listening to Disney music (especially from the early-2000s era movies!) I’m so excited to be a part of CrochetforChnge and can’t wait to get started!

Lucia is currently a Senior at Jesuit High School and is very excited to be part of the sponsorship team! She is interested in economics, marketing, and math, which she hopes to put towards her pursuits in social justice. She is also a continued volunteer at Portland Tennis & Education, and she is looking forward to reaching out with more communities through CrochetForChnge.

 Celina Xue is a current sophomore from California. She is excited to join the CrochetforChnge team to help bring positive change against injustice. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, playing the piano, and drawing.

Lily Wang

Lily Wang is currently a senior at Catlin Gabel School. She began crocheting back in March of 2021 in hopes of finding a new quarantine hobby and the craft has stuck with her since.  Outside of CrochetForChnge, Lily is the leader of her school's crochet club as well as an avid participant of the mock trial team and tennis and cross country teams. She is super excited to be a part of the team and combine both of her interests into one project – using art in the form of crochet as a platform against injustice.

Nathan Tram is a senior at Jesuit High School who is part of the Product Team for CrochetforChnge. He began crocheting during the 2021 lockdown as a hobby, and is excited to take crochet to the next level while advocating for social justice through his work. His other hobbies include design, painting, and hiking.

Lily is currently a senior at Jesuit High School. She enjoys spending time with friends, working out, being outside, and reading. Lily is passionate about special needs, houselessness, climate justice, and women’s rights. She loves volunteering and doing advocacy work in her free time, and she is so excited to be a part of the CrochetForChnge team!!
